I saw her life in those eyes
with cut-throat stares
and withered looks of daze,
each lid half open
and their cores darted where
they thought it was safe.
Her pupils swirled as hurricanes
with streaks of rain
maroon across a razor blade.
Sharing what words can't speak
and luring in the
sting of the day.
I saw her life in that skin,
painted with a tiny needle that could
delve deeper in what she knew
and who she was, then what.
Like an apple tossed aside to rot
darted across were plum-hue stains
and beautiful scars, an abstract dance of
healing and hurt.
Covered in what she screamed,
her body was masked in poetry,

A thousand burning candles
lighting up a temple.
With the quenching of the last flickering flame
the aegis falls,
and the sacred building crumbles.

The hands of the clock are crooked,
Time slowly falls away,
A never-ending battle,
We slip from night to day,
A conflict we cant escape,
A struggle each step we take,
Adrift in a sea of chaos,
From this nightmare we cannot wake,
From rage to calm within,
Cycles of rushing and waiting,
A balance none have mastered,
A duel of loving and hating,
Our morality's source unknown,
How do we so freely forgive our sin,
Yet shy away from our virtues,
As we live in a strangers skin,
A contemptible bunch are we,
Performing both good and evil acts,
Wings of each devil and angel,
Protrude and sprout from our backs,
Waging wars for peace,
Claim to accept yet

you'd think i'd be the last person in the world to say this, but as much as i love your recent poems, i think they'd be even better if you said fuck less in them. i really like em though, especially this one.
